In the spirit of some of my favorite current and former small lit ‘zines like Abbey, Squawk, Impetus (sadly, no more), Blue Collar Review, Gob Pile Chapbooks, Poetry Flyer, Poetry Motel (the one in Duluth), Pudding House

So I’ll make you a deal. Send poems. I’ll read them and print the ones that jump out at me for whatever aesthetic, artistic, unexplainable, irrational reason. Fair?

Clearly, the best way to get a sense of the overwhelming M58 experience is to buy a copy. That said, the editorial staff (i.e. me) really digs poems that:
-need a drink
-have had a few drinks
-don't work and play well with others
-smoke from long cigarette holders
-your mother warned you about
-get detention
-pass notes in class
-skip school when the waves are good
-look at you with faraway eyes
-have holes in their shoes
-have a run in their nylons
-play their music too loud
-peek in keyholes and press water glasses to bedroom doors
-are a little bleary, worse for wear and tear
-run red lights
-know where the red light district is
-hang out on street corners
-have been around the block a time or two
-are told to sit still and be quiet
-behave badly
-put a tack on the teacher's chair
-pick up strangers in bars
-sit in the back seat at the drive-in and fog up the windows
-make out in the back row at the movies
-don't pay their speeding tickets
-will appear on your permanent record
-exceed the recommended dosage
-don't go to faculty meetings
-have great pick-up lines
-lift and separate
-have been to rehab more than once
-can jump start a car

Hope that clarifies things. If not...heck, I tried.
